Contact hour verification can take up to 30 days. You will not receive an email when your hours have been verified, so please continuously check your Tracker to see if your hours have been verified or not.
If your CMSRN certification expires during the 30 days it takes to verify your contact hours, don't worry! You have a one-year grace period following the expiration of your contact hours that allows you to still recertify by contact hours.
Once your grace period begins, you can only claim contact hours going back 5 years from the date you submit your recertification application. For example, if your certification expires on 3/31/2022, you can normally claim contact hours going back to 3/31/2017 or, if it's your first certification period, going back to 1/1/2017. However, if you enter your grace period and don't submit your recertification application until 5/14/2022, you'll only be allowed to claim contact hours going back to 5/14/2017.
If your contact hours remain unverified after 30 days, please contact us at certification@amsn.org to request verification.
