Implicit (unconscious) bias are attitudes and stereotypes that the individual is not aware of but can influence our behaviors toward others. These implicit biases can contribute to health disparities, quality and safety, as well as patient outcomes. On a personal level, they also impact how colleagues and peers are acknowledged and collaborated with.
The Implicit Association Test (IAT) is an online set of multiple tests that allows individuals to discover potential implicit biases. Through these tests, the participant categorizes words or images that appear in succession. Find out more about the Tests.
